A Buyers Guide to Banner Stands
A Buyers Guide to Banner Stands
You'll often find banner stands on the show floor of a trade show or event as they offer a great way to display your company logo, products or promotions. You may also see them in offices and storefronts. There are many different types of banner stands in the market and it can be confusing which one to choose. To help you understand the differences we've put together a comprehensive buyers guide that explores hardware aesthetics, reusability and reconfigurability as well as print materials.
The first thing to decide when selecting a banner stand is how you want it to look. There are a wide range of finishes and hardware options available so you can select a banner stand that compliments the rest of your booth or displays. Then decide if you want it to be light weight or heavy duty. The heavier banner stands are often made from aluminum and have metal end caps. The lighter banner stands are usually made from plastic and have molded plastic end caps.
Another factor to consider is how portable and versatile you want the stand to be. The majority of banner stands on the market are retractable and use a base that holds a support rod which inserts into an opening in the banner's top profile. These systems are extremely fast to set up and take down and provide a portable graphic display that can be used for a variety of marketing and promotional events.
Some of the higher quality retractable banner stands also allow you to swap out the graphics using a cassette system that inserts into an opening in the base. This allows you to change out promotions or product lines as needed and still maintain a unified image with your brand.
Retractable banners can come in a wide range of sizes but the most common are around 30 to 35 inches wide and 81 to 84 inches tall. Some even come in mini sizes that can be used for table tops or to highlight specific products.
Cantilever banner stands are also a popular choice and feature a round, square or X base with an adjustable telescoping pole that can be moved up and down to create a custom height. These systems can be used for creating a graphic backdrop, making temporary walls or rooms and dividing up a large space for press conferences and other special events.
Banner stands can be upgraded with lighting, carry bags and more to make your graphics stand out and be seen. Lights can help you attract attention from attendees and illuminate your graphics, especially in a dark room or setting. Carry bags are handy to hold your banner and make transporting it easier. Other accessories include literature racks to hold your brochures, leaflets and other items for distribution. You can also add spot lights to highlight your banner stand and make your graphics really "pop" for the attendee.
